1 . What is difference between Energy Bar & Protein Bar ?
Energy Bar is meant to give more energy that means it is Carbohydrate dense food while Protein Bar is rich in Protein which is usually more than 10 Gm Per 40 Gm Bar. The purpose of Energy Bar is to satisfy hunger, while that of protein Bar is to fulfill additional demand of protein eg. After Gymming .Energy Bar can be given to children while protein bar supplement to children should be after medical consultation.
2. What is Wheat Flour ? Why Maida is not good for Health?
Wheat Flour is Maida and Whole Wheat Flour is Gehu ka Aata which we use for Chapati. Maida is highly processed wheat flour & has only empty calories & no nutrition value in terms of protein / fiber/ minerals. Maida is not easy to digest & can cause Gastrointestinal problems like Acidity / Constipation & Weight Gain.90 % of the products/snacks which we find in market, contain Maida with white Sugar & Palm Oil / Vanaspati Ghee, which is a deadly combination to cause Obesity and Heart Disease .
3. Is Jaggery recommended over Sugar ?
For Diabetic patient we do not recommend both , but to satisfy craving it is always better to go for jaggery over sugar. For normal people jaggery is always preferred as it has better fiber & iron over Sugar .Sugar is highly processed food & raises blood sugar fast than jaggery.In any case limited consumption is the key !
4. Is Ghee good for health ?
Cow ghee is good as it is medium chain fatty acid & easy to digest . Also it helps in burning fat as recommended in Ayurveda . Again limited consumption is the key.
5. What is Vanaspati Oil / Ghee ?
Vanaspati oil is oil extracted from oil seeds like Peanut / Sesame /Cocount etc. Vanaspti Ghee is Hydrogenated vanaspati oil. Commercial fried products & baked products usually use Palm Oil , which is vanaspati oil, cheaper than other oils. Palm oil is highly saturated fat which cause more triglyceride & cholesterol levels in blood & hence not good for health.Also fried foods contain trans fats which are also harmful to Heart.
6. What do you mean by Millets & Why they are supposed to be good for health ?
Millets are smaller grains which are ground & eaten without having the outer layer removed. Millets are of two types, Major & Minor Eg. Of Major millets are Jawar, Bajra, Ragi where grains size is bigger. Eg. Of Minor millets are Foxtail (kauga) ,Parso(vari), Kodo , Barnyard etc.Millets have immense benefits for health. Millets are easy to digest, act as probiotic. Millets also help in reducing triglyceride & cholesterol levels. They are rich in phytochemicals which has anti-inflammatory & anti cancerous properties. They also improve Immune system & Hormonal imbalance. Millets are good antioxidants, so play important role in Antiaging & in Metabolic diseases like Diabetes. Millets are Gluten free & are Alkaline in nature, hence prevent inflammation in the body.
